The University of Mississippi School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor and jointly sponsor continuing medical activities. Compliance with ACCME Essentials and Guidelines for Accreditation of Sponsors of Continuing Medical Education and the Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education is not optional but required by accredited sponsors of CME. Compliance for dental credit, ACPE for pharmacy credit, and MNF/ANCC for nursing credit is adhered to as applicable.
A staff member of the UMMC Division of Continuing Health Professional Education must be involved in program related activities from program inception to program end. National accrediting bodies look to our CE office to document the means by which compliance with each criteria for accreditation is met. Your planning committee must comprise of a member of each healthcare discipline within your target audience. Contact this office to discuss your activity prior to completing these forms.
